Healthcare Professional smartcards with Qualified Signature Certificates (QC) for digital signatures and identity management are becoming commonplace in Europe and internationally. QCs are issued by Trusted Third Party (TTP) service providers, so called Qualified CAs that generally offer globally trusted certificates. The RegioPKI service delivers both Qualified Certificates for legally binding and globally accepted digital signatures, and Advanced Certificates for organisation level identity management (role based access control, single-sign on, identity federation, user provisioning). Advanced smartcard solutions combining PKI and RFID and mobile solutions (smartphones and PDAs) can be implemented within the RegioPKI managed healthcare PKI services.
