Conseils – RegioPKI is present in the annual Open Days 2007 Regional even to be organized by the Committee of the Regions and DG-Regio. RegioPKI will be in the Knowledge Society Village, as part of the Investors’ Café.

Knowledge Society Village

The RegioPKI concept has been created and set up by Conseils Oy and EuroConseils Sprl together with our strategic technology partners providing software and hardware components, systems and support services. Our partners are companies with strong position in the market as leading technology providers in the area of trust and security technologies and solutions.

The RegioPKI team joined forces for the Knowledge Society Village event as , Mr. Tapio Rissane, CEO of EuroConseils, coordinated the Village preparations and worked with the event organisation as Mayor of the Village in order to arrange a successful European Knowledge Society happening.

Our RegioPKI Community activities at the OpenDays Event culminated in the Workshop Seminar "People in a safe Knowledge Society – Achieving digital inclusion for all", where high level experts addressed the issues of EU Policies and Programmes on eInclusion, practical cases on inclusive elderly homecare and privacy issues related to online communities and social interaction using the Internet.

People in a Safe Knowledge Society Worshop

The main topic in the seminar was the challenging future of eInclusion, and especially the ageing problems in Europe. As the ICT has been found one of the most promising assisting technologies to fight societal exclusion, the purpose of the seminar was to show what kind of activities European Commission DG Information Society and Media has foreseen on the policies, programme and practical levels as part of its i2010 initiative.

The audience and the speakers were challenged with some basic questions like “What can knowledge society and ICT-based services bring to a better quality of life?”, “How can we achieve eServices and take advantage of Web 2.0 technologies?” and further “How will people benefit and interact with inclusive eServices taking also care of privacy concerns, and what about the elderly people with social and health care needs?”.

As a practical response to these questions, the seminar also included a presentation of a show case, the T-Seniority project : It is a running CIP ICT PSP pilot project, which will show how the combination of interactive multichannel digital TV system and strong authentication can help in health and social homecare.

The workshop was carried out in a form of a round table panel enabling the participants to have easily living discussion and Q & A about the related subject during the workshop.
